Sinking Feeling was created for my level Design module at University. The brief meant the level would be set in modern day Detroit, so I decided to use the riverside as the main location. In it, the player is tasked with navigating the dark and dreary streets, pushing through an infested library and finally fighting down the riverside to raise the bridge so no enemies can cross. I paid special attention to the layout of the streets and how to best deform and destroy areas in a way that told a story of how each piece of damage was dealt, to better immerse the player in the environment.
